Deborah A. Fuss, MSW, LCSW
Deb
has worked in the mental health field since 1998. She has
worked with children with mental retardation and with adults
with serious mental illnesses. Deb has worked as a mental
retardation supports coordinator for children and as a
mental health case manager. She has a great deal of
experience doing mental health intakes and assessments. She
has worked with people diagnosed with schizophrenia, bipolar
disorder, depression, panic disorder, PTSD, borderline
personality disorder, ODD and Asperger’s.
Deb feels strongly about volunteering in the community and
has been on the Board of Directors of Salud Hispana,
a non-profit educational organization for Hispanics, and
Arch Street Center, a non-profit organization that provides
socialization for people with a serious mental illness. In
addition to being on the Board at Salud Hispana, Deb
led a teen pregnancy prevention program and a drug and
alcohol prevention program for younger children at the
center. At Arch Street Center, Deb was involved in
fund-raising projects, as well as interacting with the
members. Deb is currently involved with Choose Your
Future, a non-profit program that works with women in
prison and helps them transition to the community. Through
this program, Deb does mental health education programs at
the prison. She is also on a committee that is seeking ways
to make sure the women are connected with appropriated
services upon release and to prevent recidivism. Deb has
received training in disaster response and is a member of
Lancaster County’s Disaster Crisis Outreach and Referral
Team (DCORT), as well as Lancaster County MH/MR/EI’s Mental
Health Emergency Response Team.
Deb lives in Lancaster County and enjoys reading in her
spare time. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a
member of NASW. Deb is scheduled to complete the second
phase of her EMDR training in the Fall of 2007.
